PETG

FDM

PETG is quite tough with better temperature resistance compared to PLA. It is an excellent choice for end-use parts and parts requiring chemical and moisture resistance. We also offer PETG CF (Cabon Fiber) reinforced, which adds rigidity and a beautiful matte black surface finish.

Best Uses

  • Prototypes

  • End-use parts

  • Parts that require moderate temperature resistance

Characteristics

  • Brittle fracture at failure

  • Hard and tough

  • Glossy (except for PETG CF)

Strengths

  • Low cost

  • Moderate temperature resistance of ~70°C

  • Balance of detail, strength, and dimensional accuracy

  • Good choice for large FDM parts, but not as good as PLA

  • Good inter-layer adhesion (layer bonding)

Weaknesses

  • Scratch prone

  • Exhibits a minor amount of stringing (small wisps of plastic stuck to the surface of the part)
